Your Style Is Part of Your Brand

Lana Del Ray, originally known as Lizzy Grant, is one of my favorite musicians today, but it isn’t her talent alone that makes her a phenomenal singer and a superstar. Check out one of her first videos and compare it to now!.  The 27-year-old singer’s style has definitely progressed to what she describes as “Gangster Nancy Sinatra,” and it is most certainly unique. Part 1940s starlet, part Brooklyn hipster, Del Rey does her own thing, and she does it marvelously as quoted by critics. By developing her style, she has captured the imagination of her audience and helped them to participate in her music.

The important thing to remember, is your style is part of your brand and you want to make sure it communicates who you are and what you want to represent to your ideal customer. Someone recently told me I was a cross between Brigitte Bardot and Audrey Hepburn. I’ll take that!
