Manifesto

WRITE YOUR PERSONAL MANIFESTO

A MANIFESTO DEFINED:

A manifesto is defined as a declaration of one’s core values, beliefs, opinions, motives, and intentions. The manifesto is valuable in that it can challenge your assumptions, give clarity, provide inspiration daily, remind you of your priorities, foster commitment and accountability, and provoke change. It can serve as your truth, as a compass, as a frame for your life.

HOW TO WRITE A MANIFESTO:

Pick a topic
in which you want to declare your principles such as Owning It, I Believe, How I Want To Live My Life, How I Want To Handle Hardships. Determine your guiding principles. Write down your beliefs, motives, and intentions about each of the topics you chose. A manifesto is an opportunity to figure out where you really stand, identify what is important to you about that topic. Use strong, affirmative language. This may seem minor, but if you use active language, you’ll take it much more seriously. Use present tense. Keep it uplifting. Write it down with pen and paper.  Consider writing your manifesto in a physical book. I read that in ancient Israel, the kings were required to write their own copy of the laws down. The physical act of writing on an actual page with an actual pen is symbolically powerful. When you press the words on the paper, they’re pressed into your mind as well.
