WHITE STICKS
This is my new art piece. It is called "White Sticks" and on face value, has been well received. The thing about this art piece is that it isn't just a piece of art. It has a story.
People like stories. They like to know who, what, why, where and/or how a product, service, or business was conceived. It helps them to be more connected to you and consequently, they want to do business with you.
So here is the "behind the scenes" story on how "White Sticks" was created. I have been thinking about white paintings for a while. With Labor Day coming up, I thought about the "rule" that you aren't supposed to wear white after Labor Day as a symbol that summer is over. Well, I live in LA part-time and it is kind of summer all the time here. I also happen to love white. My white dresses, my white shoes, white jewelry and white accessories, white home furnishings and decor. Mostly, I don't like rules, especially ridiculous rules. So with all that in mind, I wanted to create something white that could be forever.
Sticks came to me as I was painting, as in to stick to something. The sticks are paper but paper is made from wood (aka wood sticks.) Sticks help us walk as in a walking stick, pick-up sticks, stick together, stick up for something. It's more than a painting, it is a story. And I'm sticking to it.
What's your story?
