You Gotta Know

I watched “The Gambler” with Mark Wahlberg (well, just to be clear, I watched the movie with Mark in the movie, my husband by my side at the theater) and it just reminded me of the business lesson in the famous words from the song, “The Gambler”

You’ve got to know when to hold ‘em

Know when to fold ‘em

Know when to walk away

And know when to run

You never count your money

When you’re sittin’ at the table

There’ll be time enough for countin’

When the dealin’s done

Every gambler knows

That the secret to survivin’

Is knowin’ what to throw away

And knowin’ what to keep

‘Cause every hand’s a winner

And every hand’s a loser

And the best that you can hope for is to die

in your sleep

As an entrepreneur, you have to take chances or you will never grow, but you also have to know when to not keep throwing good money after bad, and get a plan in place. In the end, YOU GOTTA KNOW.
